MU is said to be contemplating a £70 million transfer before the January window.
According to BILD, Karim Adeyemi's new agent Jorge Mendes has held initial talks with Manchester United since November. The German striker is also seriously considering his wife's wishes when thinking about his future at Dortmund. It is known that Adeyemi's wife wants him to live in a major European city, and Manchester is one of the options.
Adeyemi is currently negotiating a contract extension with Dortmund, with the release clause being a key point. However, the German club's management appears hesitant about this proposal. With Adeyemi's current contract expiring in 2027, Dortmund fears they might have to sell him for a lower fee in the future. The club reportedly wants to include a release clause worth £70.2 million, but the player himself has several other factors to consider.
Jorge Mendes has also negotiated with Inter Milan, and moving to either Manchester or Milan aligns with Adeyemi's wife's wishes. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether MU will officially make an offer for the 23-year-old, especially given their heavy spending in the recent summer transfer window.
Coach Ruben Amorim has significantly revamped the attack by signing Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo for a total fee exceeding £200 million. Additionally, sources say Manchester United is prioritizing strengthening their central midfield, with names like Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton all linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Adeyemi mainly plays on the wings. Since joining Dortmund, he has scored 32 goals in 127 matches across all competitions and provided 22 assists to teammates. Recently, the German international faced legal trouble after being fined £395,000 for possessing two types of banned weapons.
