This annual event celebrates the top male and female football players at both club and national team levels.
During the ceremony, FIFA will reveal the 2025 Best Male and Female Player awards, along with the Best Male and Female Coach honors. These awards will be presented at the FIFA Gala 2025, held at Katara Hall in the Fairmont Doha Hotel.
Additionally, FIFA will announce the Fan Award, as well as the Best Male and Female Goalkeeper awards, the Best Goal of the Year, and the FIFA Fair Play Award. These recognitions will be shared through digital video content on FIFA’s official platforms and social media channels.
The awards ceremony is expected to host around 800 distinguished guests, led by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, members of the FIFA Council, football legends, representatives from member associations, and numerous ambassadors and respected figures in the global football community.
According to FIFA, fans play a crucial role in the voting process, with over 16 million votes cast worldwide. The results are determined through a balanced voting system involving fans, national team captains and coaches from both men’s and women’s teams, as well as the media.
For the Best Male Player category, the 11 nominees are: Ousmane Dembele (France), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Harry Kane (England), Kylian Mbappe (France), Nuno Mendes (Portugal), Cole Palmer (England), Pedri (Spain), Raphinha (Brazil), Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Vitinha (Portugal), and Lamine Yamal (Spain).
The Best Female Player nominees include: Sandy Baltimore (France), Nathalie Björn (Sweden), Aitana Bonmatí (Spain), Lucy Bronze (Barcelona, England), Mariona Caldentey (Spain), Temwa Chawinga (Malawi), Kadidiatou Diani (France), Melchie Dumornay (Haiti), Patri Guijarro (Spain), Lindsey Horan (USA), Lauren James (England), Chloe Kelly (England), Ewa Pajor (Poland), Clàudia Pina (Spain), Alexia Putellas (Spain), Alessia Russo (England), and Leah Williamson (England).
In the previous season, Real Madrid’s striker Vinícius Júnior (Spain) won the FIFA Best Male Player award for 2024, while Aitana Bonmatí from FC Barcelona Women’s team (Spain) was honored as the Best Female Player.
