Schedule for WTT Hong Kong Finals on December 14! Chinese national team aims for two titles, Lin Shidong faces Harimoto Tomokazu again

On December 14 Beijing time, the WTT Hong Kong Finals reach the last day of contests. The updated schedule shows that champions for men’s and women’s singles will be crowned today. China’s team aims to claim both titles. While the women’s singles have locked in the top two positions, the men’s singles face great challenges, having to defeat strong rivals to secure a final berth. The matches begin after 1:30 PM, with CCTV broadcasting live!

The day opens with two men’s singles semifinal matches, featuring two Chinese players: world number one Wang Chuqin and world number two Lin Shidong. Wang Chuqin’s opponent is Olympic silver medalist Moregardh, who defeated Wang at the Paris Olympics due to a racket issue that caused Wang’s unexpected exit. Although that was one of the rare wins Moregardh has over Wang, overall Wang has won most of their encounters, showing his playing style tends to dominate Moregardh. In their rematch now, as long as Wang performs normally, his chances of winning are high!

Lin Shidong will face Japanese star Harimoto Tomokazu, who has become somewhat of a nemesis for Lin. Lin has lost to Harimoto multiple times. Their technical skills are quite close, but Lin’s main weakness is his mental toughness; he tends to struggle to score during critical moments. Overall, Lin faces immense pressure in this match, and it’s hoped he can withstand it, prove himself, and defeat Harimoto to achieve revenge!

The women’s singles final is an all-Chinese affair between Wang Manyu and Kuai Man. Wang Manyu, ranked second in the world and the defending champion, advanced to the final, while Kuai Man reached the final partly due to Sun Yingsha’s withdrawal. Kuai Man’s overall strength is not as comprehensive as Wang’s, so as long as Wang plays steadily, she is very likely to defend her title. Since it’s an internal Chinese match, fans can be assured that no matter who wins or loses, it will be acceptable and enjoyable to watch!

The men’s singles final is the grand finale, scheduled for 8:30 PM. Hopefully, Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong can handle the pressure, overcome strong foreign opponents, and aim to secure both the champion and runner-up spots. A fierce battle awaits—fight to the end, good luck!
