According to the official FIFA futsal rankings recently updated by the World Football Federation, Vietnam’s futsal team jumped 6 positions, soaring directly from 26th to the top 20 worldwide. Coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad gained +30.01 points, increasing from 1171.02 to 1201.03 points. This is a remarkable achievement for Vietnam’s futsal team.

These points were earned by Vietnam’s futsal team from the Asian futsal qualifiers held in September. At the end of the qualifiers, Coach Diego Giustozzi’s team won all three matches, defeating Hong Kong (China) 9-1, China 7-2, and Lebanon 4-0. Throughout the tournament, Vietnam’s futsal team showed an energetic attacking style, scoring a total of 20 goals while conceding only 3. By topping Group E, the team achieved their goal of qualifying for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship finals.

This will serve as a strong motivation for Vietnam’s futsal team to perform better in their opening SEA Games 33 match against Malaysia on December 16. Naturally, Coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad aims for a victory.
