U19 Hanoi has just announced a list of 30 players for the 2025/2026 U19 National qualifiers. This list includes players born in 2007 (5), 2008 (17), and 2009 (8). Unfortunately, among the 4 Hanoi players who recently took part in the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers with the U17 Vietnam team, one player is missing.

Specifically, while Chu Ngọc Nguyễn Lực, Trần Hoàng Việt, and Đào Quý Vương are included, the youngest, Trần Mạnh Quân, will not compete in the 2025/2026 U19 National qualifiers. Had he been named on the U19 Hanoi roster, the forward born in 2010 could have played across three youth levels in 2025 alone: U15 National, U17 National, and U19 National.

According to the Hanoi Youth Football Fanpage, with 29 goals scored in official tournaments during 2025, young striker Trần Mạnh Quân has become the Vietnamese player with the highest goal tally in 2025 (counting both youth and senior age groups).

Of those 29 goals, Trần Mạnh Quân scored 14 in the 2025 U15 National Championship, 9 in the U17 National Championship, and most recently 5 in the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers for the U17 Vietnam team. He was the top scorer in both the U15 and U17 National tournaments and also the leading scorer for U17 Vietnam during the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers campaign.

Therefore, it is quite unfortunate that Trần Mạnh Quân is absent from the 2025/2026 U19 National qualifiers. However, being only 15 years old, he still has many opportunities ahead. It is likely that the U19 Hanoi coaching staff, including coach Roland, prefer not to "rush" this 2k10 prodigy and want the young player to develop according to the proper timeline.

Initially, Trần Mạnh Quân was not included in coach Roland’s plan for the U17 Vietnam team due to his young age. However, after striker Nguyễn Lê Quang Khôi failed to recover in time from a ligament injury and had to miss the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers, Mạnh Quân was given a chance. From being a last-minute addition to the squad, Mạnh Quân has now proven himself as the main striker for the U17 Vietnam team.
