Despite the loss, Arsenal remains top of the table, though the gap with the chasing teams has narrowed. Regarding the title race, Arteta hopes his players will push harder in the coming period to build momentum before the final stretch of the season.

The 43-year-old coach added: "We have been five months into this competition and so far have stood firm. But the road ahead is long, and we will have to keep proving our ability to handle pressure, time and again, for another six months.

Following this defeat, the London club will prepare for their trip to Belgium, where they will visit Club Brugge in the sixth group stage match of the UEFA Champions League.
