The 29-year-old has netted nine goals across all competitions this season, most of which have come in recent weeks following his recovery from a knee ligament injury sustained on the second matchday that sidelined him for several weeks.

In November, he scored six out of Stuttgart's eight Bundesliga goals, proving he has returned to top form and is a strong candidate for Germany's World Cup squad next year.

"I honestly don’t know how many goals I’ve scored," Undav commented after scoring in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over VfL Bochum in the German Cup round of 16.

"I thought it was eight goals. What matters is that I keep going. There will be times when I don’t score, so I have to persist as long as possible."

Undav, who has not been selected for Germany recently, is fully aware that his current form has put him back in contention for next year’s tournament squad, which will be hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

"I keep saying the road to March is very long," Undav remarked, referring to Germany’s upcoming international fixtures as they prepare for the finals.

Bayern are firmly leading the title race, sitting first with 34 points, eight points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig, but they have shown defensive vulnerabilities.

They were defeated 3-1 by Arsenal in the Champions League last week and needed late goals to secure a 3-1 comeback win against struggling St Pauli. This marked the second straight Bundesliga match where they had to rally from behind to win.

Bayern also faced difficulties against Union Berlin before narrowly winning 3-2 in Wednesday’s German Cup last-16 match, with Berlin pressing for an equalizer in the second half, and Undav aims to exploit that weakness on Saturday.

Leipzig will host seventh-placed Eintracht Frankfurt in Saturday’s late match, while Borussia Dortmund, sitting third with 25 points, will welcome Hoffenheim, who are fifth, on Sunday.
