Mid-lane rising star explodes, JDG deploys the Xuanwu formation
JDG’s performance at the start of this Demacia Cup was actually poor, suffering unexpected losses to LNG, but after advancing, their form improved steadily, showing a trend of growing stronger with each fight. This round they faced LGD, who had previously defeated AL, and before the match, most agreed that JDG would win comfortably.

As expected, since AL sent all second-team members, LGD could win, but their actual strength in the Demacia Cup likely isn’t top four level.
In the first game, JDG set up a Xuanwu formation and switched to a control playstyle. Mid-laner HongQ’s Cassiopeia exploded in performance, calmly countering the enemy’s targeting and securing kills. In team fights for objectives, JDG executed multiple brilliant engagements. Their Cassiopeia strategy worked perfectly, and even with LGD using coach voice comms in disadvantage, JDG defeated them with ease.

In the end, JDG achieved a 23-9 kill ratio, with mid-laner HongQ earning MVP with a 9-4 scoreline. Having just joined the LPL last year-end, many fans have high hopes for this young mid-lane star, who might reach a new peak this year.
Top and mid lanes fire consecutively, GALA drops a fierce statement post-match
JDG’s best performers this round were top laner Xiaoxu and mid-laner HongQ. In the first game, Xiaoxu’s Aatrox showed impact, and in the second game, his Renekton dominated the map and took MVP. LGD played chaotically, with fans exclaiming they “were painful to watch.”

Against the opponent’s heavy lifesteal composition, LGD didn’t inflict serious damage; Tangyuan still seemed to show little improvement.
In the third game, LGD put up more resistance, trading blows with JDG. Despite being behind in kills, they capitalized on GALA’s misstep to claw back some ground and secured the dragon at match point. However, critical team fights still ended in defeat as Xiaoxu’s Kled stood strong absorbing damage, and HongQ’s Ziggs executed a brilliant cleanup.
Ultimately, JDG swept their opponent 3-0 to advance to the final. After the match, GALA gave an on-site interview and boldly declared he would “destroy WEI” in the final, prompting fans to joke that GALA is becoming a bully himself.

In the final, GALA will face his former team and old teammate WEI, raising the stakes. Will IG pull off an upset to claim the championship, or will JDG’s superior strength secure them the title?
JDG activates championship mode, IG’s finals chances are in jeopardy
Personally, I believe JDG is highly likely to switch into championship mode on the final stage and defeat IG to claim the title. Firstly, JDG’s lineup is indeed stronger. After failing in the group stage, they found a team strategy that suits them well. JDG’s current playstyle leans towards control, giving them a mid-lane advantage against IG.

Another reason is that IG was double defeated by EDG in the group stage, while JDG successfully beat EDG to advance. This suggests a tier gap among the three teams, with JDG at least one level above IG.
For IG to overcome JDG, they may need to rely on the bottom lane duo Photic and Jwei to create an advantage. From this Demacia Cup, JDG’s bottom lane hasn’t been in top form. If IG can secure lane dominance and unlock jungle-support synergy early, they might have a fighting chance.

In summary, although the Demacia Cup doesn’t carry high prestige, reaching the final means both teams surely want to lift the trophy and start the season on a high note. We hope both squads will bring their best form and deliver an exciting final showdown for the fans.
