LOL Hextech Mayhem is about to be discontinued! Zeka reflects on his career: The toughest year was in the LPL.

The second stage of the LPL Demacia Cup is coming to a close, and it was surprising that both BLG and WBG unexpectedly failed to make the playoffs. That said, they still face a final match against each other, where the loser will end up last in Group B. Neither team wants to be in that position, so this concluding battle should be entertaining. Since the pressure is off, they are advised to give it their all.

A former RA manager recently revealed that DanShen has arrived at the BLG base. In addition, it seems that Ben, formerly part of the TOP coaching staff, has also reached an agreement with BLG. The new BLG coaching lineup for the upcoming season is likely to be Daeny, Ben, and Chieh. The latter is BLG’s Demacia Cup coach and was awarded Best Youth Coach at the previous LPL annual awards. It remains to be seen how effective this coaching team will be.

Zeka discusses his professional journey in an interview.

HLE mid laner Zeka recently spoke to the media, sharing his goals for next year. He personally hopes to win an MSI championship since he has never attended the Mid-Season Invitational before and thus has no experience looking ahead to the World Championship. Focusing on MSI first is a realistic goal. HLE exposed many issues during the K Cup, showing that the team’s synergy still needs improvement. It’s unclear if things have gotten better recently.

Additionally, Zeka reflected on his time playing in the LPL, admitting that year was the toughest for him. He had just arrived when the pandemic broke out, sometimes preventing matches from being played, and even when they did happen, things didn’t go smoothly. Communication barriers were also an issue. Honestly, 2020 was very hard—being in a foreign country with only one Korean teammate and facing severe pandemic restrictions affected everything.

Oner extends contract until 2028.

T1 recently announced roster changes: jungler Oner has renewed his contract through 2028. Among the current lineup, only Keria has not been officially confirmed yet, but it’s expected he will sign a three-year deal like Oner. Faker has signed through 2029, meaning the mid-jungle-support trio will likely remain stable for the next three years. Since debuting, Oner has never entered the transfer market; T1 always renews his contract early, showing his strong desire to stay.

As a triple champion, Oner’s value has soared, but during the transfer window, he did not leverage interest from other teams to increase his price. This aligns with his previous statement: “One person, one city.” He genuinely wants to retire at T1. For the next three to four seasons, T1’s strength will remain solid, with only possible changes in the AD carry or top lane. The mid-jungle-support core is expected to stay together.

Hextech Mayhem to be removed in January.

After the LOL World Championship ended, designers introduced a new mode: Hextech Mayhem. Similar to Teamfight Tactics and Spirit Blossom, Hextech Mayhem quickly became extremely popular. Many players who hadn’t logged in for months returned because of it. It’s no exaggeration to say this mode saved LOL once again. However, it’s not permanent and is expected to be removed in January.

In the patch 25.24 update announcement, it was stated that Hextech Mayhem will remain available until the end of this version. Once patch 25.24 ends, Hextech Mayhem will be gone. Rumors say the next patch will release on January 8th, when the mode will be taken offline. So, if you haven’t tried it or want more playtime, you should hurry—the mode will only be available for about two more weeks.

In conclusion:

Although Hextech Mayhem is very popular, Riot may still remove it on schedule. There’s always a chance they might extend it. In the past, Spirit Blossom was taken down but later made permanent. Designers will likely consider keeping Hextech Mayhem permanently since player activity peaks before and after the New Year.

So, what do you think about Hextech Mayhem?
