Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Hub.
The LOL德杯 matches have been very exciting these past few days. Yesterday, BLG made their first appearance and comfortably defeated LNG, demonstrating their power. However, today they faced another unexpected defeat.

In the match against OMG, BLG lost two consecutive games and was swept by their rivals.
A huge upset in the LPL as BLG rapidly collapsed.
For this 德杯, BLG fielded all their main players except for the mid lane, with Viper also participating. Normally, BLG’s lineup is far superior to other teams. On the other hand, OMG entered the transfer period unnoticed, assembling a new roster that no one expected much from: top lane Hery, jungle Juhan, mid Haichao, and bottom lane Starry and Maham.

OMG features two Korean imports in jungle and support, and in previous matches defeated WBG with Starry performing excellently.
In this round against BLG, OMG once again demonstrated their powerful breakout potential as a dark horse. In game one, BLG picked Rumble as their own champion and gave Sylas to their opponent, which turned out to be a critical mistake. OMG’s jungle repeatedly targeted mid lane, securing two kills, while Haichao farmed well. BLG, however, focused their attacks on the bottom lane, killing Starry multiple times.
The game was initially balanced, but a poorly executed ultimate from Xun’s Rumble on the top lane gave OMG an advantage. Haichao’s engagement later turned the tide, helping OMG secure the win. In subsequent team fights, Haichao’s Sylas grew very strong, putting immense pressure on Viper and successfully diving the carries. Despite this, BLG tried to seize opportunities by killing the enemy jungler and forcing a base push.

However, the team fight near the high ground was poorly handled, allowing OMG to counterattack and end the game immediately.
Viper was mercilessly killed as OMG kept defeating strong teams.
If the first game was somewhat competitive and lost due to a single misstep, the second game was even more shocking. OMG completely dominated, playing like a machine, while BLG was powerless throughout. The audience was utterly stunned.

Within just eight minutes, OMG dove the top lane tower to kill the support Titan. Viper rushed over but was killed by the opponent. Building on this momentum, OMG continued to target the support for kills. Xun then traded one for one and died, and OMG easily won the subsequent dragon fight.
Despite the huge disadvantage, mid laner Yx1 managed a solo kill on Sion at the top but was quickly caught and killed. From then on, the match became a one-sided affair. Haichao’s overfed Akali effortlessly eliminated Viper in team fights, leaving Viper with almost no impact. In the end, BLG lost by a massive score margin.

After the match, netizens mocked BLG for popping champagne after their first win, prematurely celebrating the championship, only to be slapped down quickly. Such a ridiculous performance surprised both critics and fans alike, recalling BLG’s previous inconsistent form.
Insufficient hard strength advantage and poor stability.
In my opinion, BLG’s problems throughout this year include players having mental issues, often underestimating weaker teams, and major issues with team leadership. Their strategic decisions are subpar, especially lacking in pulling and maneuvering skills, frequently being easily outplayed by Korean teams.

In this 德杯, although BLG’s lineup was significantly stronger, they did not demonstrate it against OMG. This was partly due to the lane swap tactics and partly because of the players’ inconsistent form and lack of stability, all issues that need to be addressed in the future.
One can only say BLG has repeatedly made the same mistakes. With Viper now on board, he might help the team, but ultimately it depends on the coaching staff and players’ self-discipline. If these problems are not fixed, similar defeats will keep happening.

OMG currently seems to have developed excellent team chemistry, but whether they can maintain it remains uncertain. Over the past few years, many dark horse teams in the LPL performed well initially but soon fell apart and became weak squads. We hope OMG can stay humble and continue working hard.
