Two LPL titans have unexpectedly stumbled! They still don’t have a clear grasp of the Demacia Cup; it’s urgent they speed up their teamwork!

Many players are aware that after this year’s LPL transfer window, although the usual top teams remain active, there’s always some change each year to look forward to. If there’s no excitement even after team reshuffling, then it really loses all meaning! Over in the LCK, Gumayusi left T1 to join HLE, which benefits our region somewhat by weakening T1. Having played for T1 for many years, Gumayusi will need time to adapt and sync with his new team, thus weakening both squads to some extent. Similarly, in the LPL, there’s an AD carry who won multiple championships in past years but has now switched teams—Elk, formerly of BLG, has joined WBG, forming a kind of “galactic battleship.” Meanwhile, JDG recruited top mid and jungle talent from the LCP region, creating a mini battleship of their own!

Both JDG and WBG invested heavily to build their rosters for the new season, with high expectations for each team. However, no one predicted that both would suffer shocking upsets at the Demacia Cup! Early group stages of the Cup usually attract low attention, with most waiting for teams like BLG and TES to appear. The newly formed JDG and WBG were expected to be watchable, but both teams lost unexpectedly. The new WBG, led by Elk, Jiejie, and Xiaohu, was defeated by OMG—a team clearly on a different level. WBG aimed for world-class status but ended up being swept 0-2 by a smaller squad. Many commented that Jiejie still needs time to improve communication, while Elk performs well only in winning situations; in losing scenarios, his weaknesses become apparent and he struggles to step up.

On the other side, JDG, led by Tabe with Gala, Junjia, and HongQ, has a lineup strong in both early and late game phases. Surprisingly, they couldn’t beat LNG and were also swept, which is really hard to explain—it’s like the money was wasted. Although it was just a BO3 loss and there’s still a long road ahead, it’s clear that these newly formed powerhouses must hurry up their synergy if they want to achieve good results!
