This offseason, all teams are making enhancements, but the Warriors, as a similarly popular team, have not only failed to make substantial signings but have also lost some players, such as the three-time champion veteran Looney, which has disappointed many Warriors fans. However, recent reports from informed journalists have revealed that the Warriors have actually finalized two signings, although these deals are currently on hold due to Kuminga's contract issues. If the Warriors can resolve Kuminga's contract issues, these two players may successfully sign with the team, namely Melton and Horford.

Melton should be a familiar name to many Warriors fans. Last season, he joined the Warriors but only played a few games before suffering an injury. During the games he played, Melton had a significant impact on the Warriors, averaging 10.3 points. Kerr also trusted Melton, giving him a starting position in some games. Unfortunately, he ultimately faced injury setbacks. Melton is a player with excellent defensive skills and the ability to create his own shots. If the Warriors reacquire him, he will serve as a backup to Butler, capable of influencing the game even when Butler is off the court.

Horford appears to hold even greater importance for the Warriors. Although he is currently quite old and nearing retirement, one of his functions that Kerr highly values is his exceptional outside shooting ability.

Horford possesses outstanding three-point shooting skills, with a career three-point shooting percentage of 37.7%, making his partnership with Curry quite remarkable. It is well-known that in recent years, center players have lacked good shooting abilities; neither Looney nor Jackson-Davis can effectively execute pick-and-rolls with Curry and shoot from beyond the arc. Although the Warriors acquired Poeltl last season, who has decent three-point shooting, he is a player with very low finishing ability inside. In contrast, Horford is capable of both inside and outside play, with a delicate touch around the basket that Poeltl cannot match. Therefore, when Horford and Curry run pick-and-rolls, the Warriors' tactical system will become much richer, making Horford a very suitable interior player for Curry and arguably a perfect partner.
