On January 14th Beijing time, the Dallas Mavericks confirmed that Anthony Davis had a medical checkup on his left hand today with his attending physician, Steven Shen. The examination revealed that surgery is unnecessary, and the injury should recover in approximately six weeks. Steven Shen is regarded as one of the best doctors in the industry, having operated on Booker, Scotty Barnes, Stephen Curry, among numerous other athletes.

NBA reporter Garza shared a graphic illustrating Anthony Davis's injury history, which is truly alarming. Garza noted that the situation has worsened for Dallas since the trade involving Doncic and the Lakers, and today’s news only adds more trouble to an already complicated scenario.

Garza stated: "Davis is sidelined again due to a severe left-hand injury... Over his career, he has recorded more than 285 injury incidents, making the risk of this trade obvious from the start. Doing the math, over 14 NBA seasons, that averages more than 20 injury-related events per year. His most frequent injury areas include: foot (55 times), ankle (24 times), Achilles tendon (20 times), and back (20 times)."

NBA reporter Nichols mentioned that the Mavericks are still trying to trade Davis. Shortly after another expert informed Dallas that Davis’s left hand does not require surgery, this update emerged. It’s important to note that Davis will undergo a reexamination in about six weeks — if he has been traded by then, the follow-up will be handled by his new team.
