Kawhi Leonard’s participation is doubtful due to injury! Foot injury incident revealed after stepping on a fan’s foot: it’s the same foot injured in November.

On January 9th Beijing time, the Clippers are set to face the Nets on the road tomorrow. Leonard is listed as doubtful because of a right ankle sprain, with a 50% probability of appearing in the game.

According to Clippers reporter Law Murray, Leonard’s ankle injury occurred midway through the third quarter of yesterday’s game against the Knicks. Leonard stepped on a fan’s foot sitting courtside after a shot attempt. He had scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting through three quarters and was substituted out following that play.

Although Leonard returned to the court in the fourth quarter, he missed all four of his shot attempts. He did not comment on the injury after the game. Murray reported that the injured foot this time is the same one that was hurt in November (when Leonard missed 10 games due to an ankle injury).

During the 10 games Leonard missed last time, the Clippers only managed 2 wins and 8 losses. If Leonard is sidelined again due to injury, it would be a major blow to the team. So far this season, Leonard averages 28 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 49.2% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range. In the 893 minutes he has played, the Clippers outscore opponents by 1.7 points per 100 possessions, while in the 847 minutes without him, they are outscored by 7.7 points per 100 possessions. Currently, the Clippers hold a 13-23 record, ranking 12th in the Western Conference.
