On January 7th Beijing time, the Chicago Bulls officially confirmed signing Yuki Kawamura on a two-way contract. Kawamura is set to replace Frazier, who was released by the Bulls earlier. The team made a one-in, one-out move to adjust their two-way roster spots.

Yuki Kawamura had signed a two-way contract with the Bulls on July 20 last year but was waived on October 18, missing the chance to join the official regular season roster. However, his return to Chicago this time can be seen as making up for that previous setback.

During the 2025 preseason, Kawamura played 2 games for the Bulls, averaging 10.8 minutes per game, with 3.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. The main reason for his release was a right calf injury that caused him to miss the last three preseason games. Before the season started, the NBA updated Kawamura’s height from 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 meters) last season to 5 feet 7 inches (1.70 meters), marking a decrease of 3 centimeters.

In the 2024-25 season, Kawamura played as a two-way contract player for the Memphis Grizzlies, appearing in 22 regular season games with an average of 4.2 minutes and 1.6 points per game.
Frazier, the small forward waived by the Bulls, only appeared twice in this season’s regular games, averaging 2 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game.
