The Bucks are aiming to upgrade their roster around Giannis; the Warriors are expected to trade Kuminga, whose contract salary matches Porter’s, and coach Kerr has previously praised Porter highly; the Pistons are generally believed to seek more scoring firepower; meanwhile, the Bulls showed interest in Porter when he played for the Nuggets.

This season, Porter has become the Nets’ primary scorer, averaging a career-high 25.8 points per game. The 6-foot-10 forward boasts impressive efficiency with shooting splits of 49% field goal, 41% three-point, and 81% free throw, while also posting a career-best 7.5 rebounds per game.

Injuries and contract terms have been crucial in evaluating Porter’s value. He has remained mostly healthy over the past three seasons. Porter’s salary this season is $38.3 million, with one year left on his contract, and a $40.8 million salary in the 2026-27 season.

Fischer noted that the Nets are currently fielding inquiries about Porter, but the team does not seem eager to sell him actively. Several league insiders familiar with the Nets’ management believe that if Brooklyn secures a high draft pick in 2026, they might aggressively push for a rebuild next offseason. This suggests the Nets will likely demand a hefty price if trading Porter midseason.
