On January 1st Beijing time, during a recent podcast, Suns center Mark Williams swore in reaction to the trade in which the Lakers sent him back. "To be honest, screw you," Williams said straightforwardly before expressing his opinion about that 2017 championship team.

Mark Williams was expected to join the Los Angeles Lakers in early February this year. At that time, the Lakers were ready to trade Knect, Reddish, and future draft picks to the Charlotte Hornets for this 2.16-meter center.
However, after Williams failed the physical exam, the Lakers had to cancel the deal and instead looked for other interior players to fill the gap left by Anthony Davis — just days before the trade fell through, the Lakers had traded Davis to the Mavericks.
"Honestly, I was really excited about going to the Lakers. I felt I could definitely help them, especially in the playoffs. But then they lost, and I did send a laughing emoji at the time. I admit, I was a bit schadenfreude, secretly enjoying it in my heart."

As Williams mentioned, during last season’s first round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Lakers could have used this Duke University-trained center.
After failing to sign Williams, the Lakers quickly signed Ryan, but frankly, this former lottery pick turned out to be a burden for the Lakers. Ultimately, Gobert dominated inside, leading the Timberwolves to an easy advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
Later, Williams joined the Suns, and so far this season, he is averaging 13.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
