Here it is! The latest injury update on Jokic, the premier player of today's NBA.

No serious issues, no serious issues, no serious issues.

Important enough to say three times — a fortunate outcome amidst misfortune.

Serbian media Meridian Sport has informally learned from sources inside the Nuggets thatJokic’s injury is a knee hyperextension and does not involve any severe damage.

This means the basketball star of our time may only need some rest and is expected to return before the NBA All-Star Game next year (February 13-15).

This guy truly lives up to his reputation as the NBA’s iron man; over the past five seasons (excluding this one), he has missed only 36 games in total and has rarely suffered major injuries throughout his career — and this time is no exception.

Back to the point, in the recent game where the Nuggets lost 123-147 on the road to the Heat, Jokic was accidentally injured by a teammate during a defensive play near the end of the second quarter. Before leaving the game, he played about 19 minutes, contributing 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Before the injury, Jokic had played all 32 games, averaging 34.6 minutes per game with explosive triple-double numbers: 29.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 11 assists, shooting an impressive 60.5% overall, including 43.5% from beyond the arc on 2.1 three-pointers per game. He is leading the Nuggets, who currently stand third in the Western Conference with a 22-10 record, just one game behind the Spurs in second place.

However, with Jokic injured and earlier injuries to Gordon (right hamstring), Braun (left ankle sprain), and Johnson (right knee contusion) landing them in the hospital, only Murray remains as a starter to carry the team. As a result, the Nuggets’ performance may decline, as they now lead the seventh-place Suns by only three games.

Murray has been playing exceptionally well this season, averaging 25.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 steal per game, shooting 48.7%, and hitting 3.5 three-pointers per game at a 45.4% clip. However, he has yet to prove his ability to lead a team, having spent his entire NBA career so far playing under Jokic’s protection.

Of course, the Nuggets can afford to overlook short-term setbacks; once their full roster returns to complete health, they remain one of the top contenders for the championship, especially since the playoffs are still far away.

Proper injury management has always been a crucial factor in championship runs, and no title-contending team can afford to neglect the health of its core players.
