The Bucks are actively shopping Kuzma! Their trade and recruitment plan has identified three main targets, including a teammate of Yang Hansen.

On December 30th Beijing time, insider Sidery reported that the Bucks are aggressively marketing Kuzma in the trade market to enhance their wing positions.

At present, the Bucks are making efforts to keep Giannis, and in this context, they are seeking a trade partner for Kuzma’s $22.4 million salary. Meanwhile, rival teams are adding conditions, aiming to acquire the Bucks’ future draft picks or pick swap rights in any deal.

Additionally, ESPN reporter Collier stated that the Bucks have made it clear they won’t trade Giannis unless he requests it himself. As for Giannis, while not entirely impossible, he seems very reluctant to make such a request. This has led the Bucks to focus on upgrading the roster around him.

The Bucks have targeted the Kings’ LaVine and Monk as trade objectives. LaVine’s salary this season is $47.5 million, with a player option worth $48.9 million next season. In contrast, Monk’s contract is easier to match, earning $18.8 million this year, with two years left totaling $41.7 million, and the final year also a player option.

Reports indicate that the Bucks have also discussed acquiring Grant, a teammate of Yang Hansen. Grant, who plays for the Trail Blazers, earns $32 million this season, with a contract totaling $70.6 million through the 2027-28 season, and the last year being a player option.

For the Bucks, acquiring any high-salary player will require sending out multiple players to match salaries. For example, to get LaVine, the Bucks might need to trade several players to the Kings or involve a third team in a multi-team deal to share the salary burden.

The trade with the Trail Blazers carries additional considerations for the Bucks since Portland currently holds Milwaukee’s first-round draft picks from 2028 to 2030. This means the Bucks cannot freely trade their first-round picks until 2032.
