Done! Simmons has officially joined! He is an NBA number one draft pick.

Playing basketball is just a means to earn a living, fishing is the real love.

The Sports Fishing Championship (SFC) officially announced, that Simmons has formally purchased the South Florida Sailing and Fishing Club, reportedly spending close to ten million to secure 50% ownership of the clubmaking him unquestionably the person in charge.

Simmons stated: I am dedicated to advancing fishing as a sport because I have genuine faith in it...

If this guy had even half the passion for basketball that he has for fishing, he might really become LeBron James' successor.

Maybe in the future, we will see George, who also loves fishing, teaming up strongly with Simmons. (Just kidding)

Back to the point, although Simmons plans to shift his focus to professional fishing, he has not given up on returning to the NBA,and he revealed that he expects to come back possibly mid-season or at the latest by next season.

Last season, while playing for the Clippers, Simmons averaged 16.4 minutes per game in the regular season with 2.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists; in the playoffs, he averaged 8.4 minutes with 0.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. Although his offensive skills have vanished, he still contributes defensively and in organization. Reports said the Knicks offered him a veteran minimum contract this summer, which he declined.

Born in 1996, Simmons is now 29 years old, theoretically still in his prime as a basketball player. He was the 2016 NBA first overall pick, selected once for the All-NBA Third Team, twice for the All-Defensive First Team, and three times an All-Star. The biggest obstacles to his career reaching its expected potential are his inability to shoot and his fragile physical condition.

So far, Simmons has played eight seasons in the NBA, totaling only 422 games (regular season plus playoffs). As a versatile forward-guard, he has taken just 38 three-point shots, making 5, making him one of the most unusual players in history.

However, despite lacking shooting ability, he still reached NBA All-Star level, which shows he is truly exceptional in other areas.

Notably, Simmons’ total NBA career salary has reached about $203 million, earning $530,000 per regular season game — the ultimate idol for those who coast at work.
