The NBA preseason is ongoing, and today the Clippers faced the Guangzhou Loong Lions in their first preseason matchup. Nearly all of the Clippers’ main players appeared, with Leonard, Harden, and Paul each making their season debuts. The starters showed great shooting form. Leonard played 17 minutes, hitting 6 of 10 shots, including 5 of 8 three-pointers, finishing with 18 points. Zubac played 16 minutes, shooting 7 of 8, scoring 15 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. The most impressive performance came from the bench: Paul scored 15 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists, shooting 4 of 5 from three-point range. Newcomer Collins also contributed 15 points and 4 rebounds.

During this offseason, the Clippers made significant reinforcements, and judging by today’s game, the new additions have performed exceptionally well. Paul scored 15 points, Collins also put up 15 points, and Lopez added 9 points. These players fit very well with the Clippers. In the second half, after tightening up defensively, the Clippers quickly extended their lead, clearly demonstrating their dominance on both ends of the floor.
Paul’s performance today deserves special emphasis. Many fans believe that with Paul on the team this year, the Clippers effectively have a second "Harden." We can see that Paul’s on-court leadership and orchestration of the team are outstanding. Although Harden only scored 5 points in the game, he had 9 assists. The player with the second most assists was Paul, who handed out 4 assists. At 40 years old, Paul’s offensive efficiency is even more surprising, proving he has maintained excellent overall form. He also contributed a steal and two blocks, showing that his defensive experience and judgment still allow him to make an impact on that end. This has many fans highly anticipating Paul’s role in the upcoming season.

Signing Paul for a minimum salary was an incredible deal for the Clippers; they not only gained an exceptional basketball mind but also essentially added an assistant coach on the floor. Paul acts like a coach playing in the game, effectively organizing the Clippers' offense and easing Harden’s burden. This year’s Clippers team is definitely one to watch with great anticipation.
