The Rakuten Monkeys have signed their captain Lin Li to an eight-year contract worth 180 million NTD, joining forces to build a new Rakuten Monkeys dynasty.

On the last day of 2025, CPBL’s Rakuten Monkeys revealed they had come to terms with their core player and captain Lin Li, signing an eight-year multi-year contract valued at 180 million NTD (about 40 million RMB), including performance bonuses. This extensive contract demonstrates the club’s great appreciation and confidence in Lin Li, while also providing a powerful boost for the Rakuten Monkeys' future progress. Moving forward, Lin Li will continue to fight alongside the team, working together to create a new glorious chapter for the Rakuten Monkeys.

Since joining the Rakuten Monkeys midway through the 2017 season, Lin Li has played nine seasons with the team. Over these nine years, his all-around skills have made significant contributions to the Monkeys, accumulating 946 hits, 93 home runs, and 139 stolen bases, with a batting average reaching .340. Looking ahead to the next season, Lin Li is expected to reach personal career milestones of 1,000 hits and 100 home runs, continuing to demonstrate his powerful batting prowess. His value goes beyond impressive stats; he has earned multiple CPBL annual awards, including batting champion, hits leader, RBI leader, stolen base leader, Best Ten, and Most Valuable Player (MVP), highlighting his elite status within the league.

Reflecting on the past, Lin Li was one of the key contributors to the former Lamigo Monkeys’ three consecutive championships; this season, as captain, he led his teammates to fight hard and ultimately secure the championship title.
