The 2025 BWF World Tour badminton season concluded after the finals of the prestigious BWF World Tour Finals on Sunday, December 21. Players on the Tour have now learned their final rankings for the year, and it is time for them to rest before the new season begins.
Accordingly, Vietnam's top badminton player, Nguyễn Thùy Linh, ended the season ranked 22nd in the world with 49,410 points accumulated. Compared to the same time last year, Thùy Linh's ranking has significantly improved.
In 2024, Thùy Linh was defeated by the young home player Kim Min-sun at the Korea Masters and decided to end her season exhausted from a demanding schedule. The number one Vietnamese player then dropped out of the world top 30 and nearly fell out of the top 40.

Additionally, Thùy Linh reached the final of the Super 100 Vietnam Open for the fourth consecutive time but was unable to extend her winning streak at the home tournament.

Thùy Linh also posed challenges to star players such as current world number one An Se-young, "Cat Machine" Akane Yamaguchi, Yeo Jia Min, among others. In September this year, Linh reached her career-high ranking at 17th in the world.
According to the list published on the BWF official website, Nguyễn Thùy Linh’s first tournament in 2026 will be the Super 750 India Open held from January 13 to 18 in New Delhi, India.
